RagnarRox Bonus Video Library

This is an archive for all my previously released Bonus Videos (RagnarRambles) on Patreon, updated whenever a new bonus video comes out.(because Patreon itself does not offer adequate means of cataloguing them for backers to easily find them). All links lead to the original Patreon posts.

Let's Play Crow Country
3 hourlong Episodes released so far
Crow Country feels like a survival horror game for MS-DOS like Ecstatica/Bioforge/Little Big Adventure in so many ways.SUPER digging this.
Love the ellipsoid-like aesthetic and the unorthodox keyboard-only control scheme.
Currently playing, and I am aiming to finish this game and record it as a complete playthrough here.

Let's Play Krypta FM
EP6 | 1:48:03
A complete narrated playthrough of the Polish cryptid-hunting indie game Krypta FM.
I know this sounds like a buzzfeed article, but this game really surprised me by setting up expectations for 1.5 hours and then pulling the rug from under my feet twice in ways I had not anticipated.
Super enjoyable game with a ton of heart and soul!

How Morrowind Might Just Have Saved My Life
EP5 | 26:06
I wanted to cover Morrowind for years, but it's just such an important game that I kept feeling overwhelmed by finding the right angle. With this video-essay I want to break that wall of perfectionism by talking about the truly most personal aspect of why Morrowind is so seminal for me, when it helped me through a truly dark time in my life.
Thanks Michael Kirkbride!

Production Vlog June '24
EP4 | 33:31
In this vlog-style video, I'm messing around with camera setup and talk about a video that's been really hard to work on. About a game that my late brother introduced me to when I was a kid. I also showcase a really cool "Still Wakes the Deep" PR package from Chinese Room I received in the mail.

Forgotten Gems (Light)
The Riddle of Master Lu (1995)

EP3 | 21:00
I loved my Forgotten Gems series, but it sadly kept underperforming and killing the channel's growth. So I put it on ice years ago.
In my last video on Orion Burger by Sanctuary Woods, I teased that I was going to cover the other adventure game that studio released in the 90s. I never got to it.
So here's a full-on Forgotten Gems (Light version) on The Riddle of Master Lu!

Let's Play Alone in the Dark (2024)
EP2 | 56:40
I released a launch-day review of Alone in the Dark (2024), and parallel to that a Let's Play of my first hour of my second playthrough with Edward Carnby.

Why You Should Play Pathologic
Dec 32, 2018 | 15:14
A little unscripted ramble by someone who's really passionate about Pathologic 1.
Released as a Thank You video to my backers in 2018.

Video Essay: RPG Pacifism
Feb 19, 2018 | 16:02
This is funny to look back at. I'm exploring the concept of "Pacifism", i.e. playing without violence, in Computer RPGs and how I feel this is a hugely underexplored discipline in cRPGs and that it holds massively untapped potential.
This came out one year before Disco Elysium and I would be proven so right.
Love to say I told you so! ;)

Video Essay: My Problem with "Game Theory"
Apr 19, 2018 | 13:18
In this essay I'm voicing my issues with the ideological heritage of "Game Theory" on YouTube. And by that I mean the format the channel has popularized, not the scientific method.

Playing Silent Hill 2 on the NES
Aug 24, 2018 | 19:58
I'm playing the Silent Hill 2 Demake Soundless Mountain, which replicates the first 30-40 minutes of Silent Hill 2, but on the NES.This is an actual NES game, not just a retro-lookalike. Pretty cool.

Dune (1992) | Full Playthrough
Jan 9, 2019 | 6:43:37
This is a full playthrough of Cyro Interactive's Dune video game adaptation from 1992.
I made a Forgotten Gems video on it.
I started playing, recording and narrating it and then it just pulled me in so hard that I finished the entire thing in a single sitting.
